Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, March 15: A JCB which was digging during construction work in Banuti under Baluganj police station of Shimla city fell victim to an accident on Friday afternoon. The driver and conductor of the JCB died on the spot. The deceased include JCB driver 23-year-old Anil, son of Jogendra Kumar, resident of Bilaspur and a 22-year-old youth of Nepali origin. This accident happened near Didoghati Najd Stone Crusher.

According to the information, construction work of a building is going on in Banuti. Here a JCB was doing digging work, suddenly due to debris and stones coming from above, the JCB got buried. People present nearby informed the police. Police personnel reached the spot and conducted the rescue operation.

By the time both the people buried under the debris were rescued, one had died, while the other died in the hospital. Baluganj police have registered a case and the cause of the accident is being investigated.
