Mandi, 24 July: Chandigarh-Manali National Highway will remain closed for two hours daily between Mandi and Pandoh from 27 July to 31 July. Mandi district administration has issued orders in this regard. Under the orders, Chandigarh-Manali National Highway will be closed for 5 days daily from 11 am to 1 pm.
DC Mandi Apoorv Devgan informed that the administration had received a request from NHAI that there are some places between Mandi and Pandoh where there is a danger of landslides. Especially at some places, large stones and rocks are hanging on the hill which can fall anytime and cause havoc. In such a situation, it is necessary to remove these stones and rocks. At the same time, debris has fallen due to landslides at some places, which is also necessary to remove.
Keeping in mind the safety of the passengers, accepting the request to do this work with immediate effect, it has been decided to keep the highway closed for two hours daily for 5 days. Let us tell you that during these two hours, while the traffic on the NH between Mandi and Pandoh will remain disrupted, during this time people will be able to take the help of alternative routes.
Those going from Mandi to Kullu-Manali will be able to go via Kamand-Kataula-Bajaura. If someone is coming from Kullu, then they will be able to go from Pandoh via Gohar-Chailchowk-Dadour. Only small vehicles will be allowed to go through the alternative routes, while big vehicles will have to wait on the highway itself.
