Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, March 18: BJP has accused Himachal Congress government of distributing the forms of Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana despite the model code of conduct being in place. A complaint has also been given to the Election Commission by BJP regarding the form. It has been said in the complaint that the photograph of the Chief Minister is also printed on the form. After the complaint, the Election Commission has called for a report from the District Welfare Officer within 24 hours. With the announcement of Lok Sabha elections on Saturday, model code of conduct has been imposed in Himachal Pradesh. BJP says that despite the model code of conduct, the Social Justice and Empowerment Department is distributing forms of Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Samman Nidhi Yojana.

BJP has accused the Congress government of Himachal that the forms of Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana are being filled from previous dates due to which an attempt is being made to influence the Lok Sabha elections. Photos of Chief Minister Sukhu and former PM Indira Gandhi are displayed on the form. This is a direct violation of the election code of conduct. Taking immediate action on the first complaint received on the second day of implementation of the code of conduct, the Election Commission has called for a report within 24 hours from the District Welfare Officer, Shimla, Department of Social Justice and Empowerment of the government. Under the Pyari Behna Yojana, CM Sukhu has announced to give Rs 1500-1500 every month to the eligible women of the state from the financial year 2024-25.

Cannot add new beneficiaries to any scheme –

State Chief Electoral Officer Manish Garg has made it clear that after the implementation of the election code of conduct, new beneficiaries cannot be added to any scheme. Even New beneficiaries cannot be added to MNREGA also.

The Congress government of Himachal Pradesh is openly violating the election code of conduct. Even after the implementation of the code of conduct, forms for Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana are being distributed. The forms are being filled from previous dates and photographs of Chief Minister Sukhu and former PM Indira Gandhi are printed on the forms. The Election Commission should ban this with immediate effect.
