Himachal News: Another Big Chemical Leak In Jharmajri Pharma Industry, 14 Workers Unconscious

14 workers have become unconscious due to gas leakage due to falling of chemical drum in a pharma industry in Jharmajri of Solan district of Himachal Pradesh.

Most of the unconscious workers are said to be residents of Uttar Pradesh.

The unconscious workers were immediately taken to the local hospital.

Due to critical condition, 10 workers have been referred to PGI Chandigarh.

The unconscious workers include 12 girls and two boys.

According to complete information, when the workers of the pharma industry were carrying the chemical drum from the first to the second floor, it suddenly fell down and the chemical leaked.
During this period 14 workers had become unconscious.

The drum contained methylene chloride solvent chemical, which leaked.

The industry management had taken all the unconscious workers to Civil Hospital Baddi.

Four workers from Civil Hospital Baddi have been referred to Katha Hospital and 10 workers have been referred to PGI Chandigarh due to their critical condition.

The unconscious workers include Iqra and Hemlata residents of Housing Board Colony Baddi, Ijma daughter of Ibrahim, Nani, Tabassum, Shivam, Vishnu, Gulaksha, Gayatri, Sabbu and Rita.

Managing Director of the industry, Dheeraj Gupta, told Diary Times correspondent Kumud Sharma that due to the leakage of methylene chloride solvent chemical used for tablet coating in the industry, the workers started fainting and were taken to Civil Hospital Baddi.

After first aid, 10 workers have been referred to PGI.

Dheeraj Gupta claimed that now the condition of all the workers is said to be fine.

Baddi’s ASP Ashok Verma said that a case of workers fainting has come to light. Workers have become unconscious due to chemical leakage. All the workers are currently under treatment. Solan police is investigating the entire matter.
