Hamirpur, June 19: Agniveer (Army) Nikhil Kumar of Lalhari area adjoining Hamirpur district headquarters of Himachal Pradesh was cremated with full military honors at Mokshadham in Hathli on Friday.
Earlier, the body of Nikhil Kumar Dadhwal was brought to his ancestral home from Jammu and Kashmir in the afternoon. During this, Deputy Commissioner Amarjit Singh, Superintendent of Police Bhagat Singh, Naib Tehsildar Jagdish Chand and other officials from Hamirpur district administration paid tribute and consoled the bereaved family.
After this, Nikhil Kumar’s body was brought to Hathali Khad’s Mokshadham in an army vehicle, where Brigadier MS Bains, Colonel Ajay Kumar, Lieutenant Colonel Varun Gandhi, Captain Sahil Kumar, Naib Tehsildar Jagdish Chand and other officers of the Indian Army, Nikhil’s father Daler Singh and Taya Devi Dutt paid tribute by offering a wreath.
Captain Sahil Kumar handed over the national flag to Nikhil Kumar’s father Daler Singh and the army contingent gave Nikhil a final farewell by turning the weapons upside down and firing in the air. Nikhil’s brother Akhil Dadhwal lit the funeral pyre.
