Shimla, July 10: Himachal Pradesh IAS officer Ashutosh Garg has got a big responsibility at the Centre. He has been appointed as the personal secretary of Union Health, Family Welfare & Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda. A notification in this regard was issued by the Central Personnel Department late on Tuesday night. He has been appointed to this post for the next five years.

Ashutosh Garg is a 2014 batch Indian Administrative Service officer of Himachal Pradesh cadre. Currently, he is posted as Special Secretary, Personnel and Finance Department in the Himachal Pradesh government. He has also been the Deputy Commissioner of Kullu district. Soft-spoken Ashutosh Garg is a native of Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh, which is the neighboring district of Union Minister JP Nadda.
Ashutosh Garg did his school level education from Hamirpur. After this he obtained a B.Tech degree. In 2013, he was selected in IPS, while in 2014 he was selected in IAS.
