Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, March 30: Hamirpur independent MLA Ashish Sharma and Rakesh Sharma, father of former Gagret MLA Chaitanya Sharma, named in the horse-trading case in Rajya Sabha elections, appeared at Baluganj police station on Saturday. According to the information, during this time the police officers interrogated both of them for about three hours.

Independent MLA Ashish Sharma had appeared at the police station yesterday also, while former IAS Rakesh Sharma appeared at the police station for the first time on Saturday. After including them in the police investigation, the police have recorded their statements and started investigation.

Let us tell you that an FIR has been registered against MLA Ashish Sharma and retired IAS Rakesh Sharma at Baluganj Police Station in Shimla. Apart from these, other unknown people have also been named in the FIR. Various criminal sections have been imposed against the accused. The police have taken this action on the complaint of two Congress MLAs Sanjay Awasthi and Bhuvneshwar Gaur.

According to the complaint, the father of the rebel former MLA and an independent MLA have been accused of vote-buying, bribery and money transactions in the Rajya Sabha elections. He is also accused of wrongly influencing the Rajya Sabha elections. The complainants have also alleged that the accused conspired to topple the government. Rakesh Sharma, father of former Gagret MLA Chaitanya Sharma, has retired from the post of Chief Secretary in Uttarakhand.

Actually, a case has been registered in the FIR under sections 171 E and 171 C, 120 B and Section 7 and 8 of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
