Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Una, March 23: As soon as rebel former Congress MLA Chaitanya Sharma joined BJP, Rakesh Kalia, a special invitee member of Himachal Pradesh BJP Executive and three-time MLA on Congress ticket, has resigned from BJP. However, he has not yet joined any other political party. Rakesh Kalia said that he will take the next step after discussing with the people of Gagret and Chintpurni and the intellectual class of Una district. Now everyone’s eyes will be on what impact this move will have on the politics of Gagret and Chintpurni assembly constituencies. Congress had fielded Chaitanya Sharma after rejecting the ticket of Rakesh Kalia, who was the co-in-charge of Madhya Pradesh along with the post of Secretary of All India Congress Committee, in the 2022 assembly elections. In protest against this, Rakesh Kalia said goodbye to Congress and joined BJP.

While sending his resignation letter to BJP State President Rajeev Bindal on Saturday, Rakesh Kalia said that when Chaitanya Sharma had joined Congress, he had resigned from the party to warn the Congress leaders that now Chaitanya should not contaminate the politics of BJP, due to this possibility. Cannot be denied. Kalia has been aggressive towards Chaitanya from the beginning and has been attacking him fiercely in many programs. He said that the people of Gagret know Chaitanya’s working style and the public has not yet forgotten how he made the people of Gagret cry tears of blood. He said that he will decide his next strategy soon. Rakesh Kalia’s resignation from BJP has also raised hopes among his supporters that he may soon join Congress.
