Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, April 01:  The anticipatory bail of Independent MLA from Hamirpur Ashish Sharma And Retired IAS officer Rakesh Sharma, father of Congress rebel and disqualified MLA Chaitanya Sharma from Gagret assembly constituency, named in the FIR registered by Shimla Police in connection with the conspiracy and transaction to topple the ruling Congress government of Himachal Pradesh, has been extended till April 26th.

On Monday, Himachal Pradesh High Court decided to extend the anticipatory bail of both of them. However, while granting anticipatory bail, Himachal Pradesh High Court made it clear that when Shimla Police calls IAS officer Rakesh Sharma and Independent MLA Ashish Sharma for investigation, they will have to join the investigation. On March 12, the Himachal Pradesh High Court had granted conditional anticipatory bail to both of them.

In fact, IAS officer Rakesh Sharma and independent MLA Ashish Sharma were to be detained for questioning by Shimla Police after being named in the FIR registered at Baluganj Police Station in Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh. To avoid this, IAS officer Rakesh Sharma and independent MLA Ashish Sharma had applied for anticipatory bail in the Himachal Pradesh High Court. Himachal Pradesh High Court has directed both of them to cooperate in the investigation. Both the accused had appeared at Baluganj police station in Shimla last Saturday. During this time, the SIT of Himachal Pradesh Police had interrogated both of them for about three hours.

Apart from these, other unknown people have also been named in the FIR. Various criminal sections have been imposed against all the accused. Shimla Police has taken this action on the complaint of two MLAs of the ruling Sukhu government of the Congress party, Sanjay Awasthi and Bhuvneshwar Gaur.
