Himachal: Grandmother and 5 year old granddaughter were driving away monkeys from the fields, died due to electric shock
Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Kangra, March 30: A painful accident has come to light from Saleti village under Rakkad police station of Jaswan-Paragpur assembly constituency of Kangra district, where a grandmother and granddaughter have died tragically due to electrocution.

According to the information, the grandmother and granddaughter were going to drive away the monkeys from the fields. Meanwhile, both of them died tragically due to electrocution from electrical wires. It is being told that due to bad weather last night, the electric wires had broken and fallen in the fields due to the strong storm. About which the villagers did not know. In the morning, when monkeys came to the fields to destroy the crops, the grandmother and granddaughter went to the fields to drive them away. During this time She died due to electric shock. The deceased have been identified as Sapna Devi (50) and 5-year-old Aaruhi.
As soon as information about the accident was received, the villagers informed the electricity board. After which the electricity was switched off and the villagers took both the grandparents to the hospital, but by then both of them had died.

As soon as information about the accident was received, station in-charge Rakkad Gurdev Singh and the police team reached the spot and took possession of both the bodies and started further investigation.
He said that the police have sent the bodies of the grandmother and granddaughter to the hospital for post-mortem. He also went to the fields and inspected the accident site. A case has been registered and further investigation has been started. After the accident, sensation has spread in the entire area.
