Good News Cashless Treatment will be done through Him Care Card in PGI Chandigarh.

Chandigarh/Shimla, February 26: PGIMER Chandigarh has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Himcare Scheme of Himachal Pradesh towards providing free treatment. It is also being seen as a revolutionary change in the direction of patient welfare. The MoU aims to streamline health services and cashless treatment on the lines of Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.

About 4000-5000 patients of Himachal Pradesh are going to benefit every year from the MoU.

The MoU has been signed in the presence of Professor Vivek Lal, Director, PGI Chandigarh, Pankaj Rai, Deputy Director (Administration) and Varun Ahluwalia, Financial Advisor (PGIMER).

Medical Superintendent of PGIMER, Prof. Vipin Kaushal and Dr. Ashwani Sharma, Chief Executive Officer, HP Health Insurance Scheme Society, have signed on behalf of Himcare.

Under the agreement, Himcare cashless treatment facility has become available in PGI.

Director Professor Vivek Lal expressed his deep optimism about the collaborative effort, saying, “At PGI, we are steadfast in our dedication towards providing exemplary healthcare services. He said that through the partnership with HIMCARE, we will ensure We will ensure that no patient is denied the care they deserve due to financial constraints.”

Deputy Director (Administration) Pankaj Rai said, “Himachal Pradesh had launched the Himcare scheme from January 1, 2019, to facilitate cashless treatment benefits. On an average, 4000 patients every year from Himachal Pradesh are availing treatment under the scheme at PGIMER Chandigarh. The entire process of reimbursement under the scheme was very time consuming and reimbursement took at least 4-5 months. To overcome this problem and to benefit the Himcare beneficiaries, it has been decided by PGIMER Chandigarh to provide cashless facility on the lines of Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.

About 4000-5000 patients of Himachal Pradesh are going to benefit annually.

Deputy Director (Administration) Pankaj Rai informed that now there will be no need to obtain and submit treatment estimate certificate or bill for reimbursement.

The beneficiary will have to submit only the HIMCARE Card at the counter for treatment and cashless treatment facility will be provided by PGI.

Himachal Pradesh State Government will reimburse the amount to PGIMER Chandigarh based on predefined package rates.
