Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Kullu/Kharahal, March 24: There were many promises to build the Bhubhu Tunnel but nothing has been done on the ground. In the Lok Sabha elections and by-elections of 2009, 2014 and 2019 as well as in the assembly elections, political parties made Bhubhu Tunnel the main issue to garner votes. Earlier, due to the formation of double engine government of BJP, people were also hopeful that this time the work of Bhubhu Tunnel would definitely start, but it did not happen. Even the previous Congress governments could not do much to build the Bhubhu Tunnel.

There is anger among the people of the area towards the government and the department due to the suspension of the construction work of the strategically important Kullu-Shilhabadhani road, which bridges the distance between Kullu and Jogindernagar.
