Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Una, April 06: An incident of death of the driver on the spot due to an accident involving a speeding car has come to light in Samur Khurd near Una district headquarters. The deceased has been identified as Ankit Thakur, son of Rakesh Kumar, resident of Daroh tehsil Bangana district Una.

In the complaint given to the police, Rakshit Thakur son Shamsher Singh, resident of Samur Khurd, said that when he was studying in his house late on Friday night, he heard the sound of continuous honking from Una-Hamirpur Highway. Hearing the sound, when Rakshit Thakur came on the road, he saw that a car had crashed on the road and a person was lying in a bloody condition. Within some time, a couple came there and identified the injured youth as Ankit Thakur. With the help of an ambulance, this young man was immediately taken to the hospital, but he was declared dead in the hospital.

Additional Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Kumar Bhatia confirmed the matter and said that the police is busy investigating the matter. After the post-mortem of the deceased’s body, it has been handed over to the family members. Further action is underway. He said that the reason for this accident could be high speed. However, the vehicle was found in a damaged condition in a drain. The police is investigating this matter with the help of public.
