Himachal Doctors Strike: Medical Officers in Himachal on Mass Leave Today, Problems of Patients Increased
Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Bilaspur, March 07: Medical officers in Himachal Pradesh have gone on mass leave today. Medical officers have gone on mass leave in protest against Himachal Pradesh government not issuing NPA to doctors and other demands are not being met. Health services in hospitals of Himachal Pradesh have been badly affected due to doctors going on mass leave. Right now these doctors are on strike for two and a half hours every day.
The Medical Officers Association has also warned that if the demands are not met then the agitation will intensify. These doctors are on strike for 15 days. These doctors are sitting in OPD and treating patients only after 12 o’clock. Due to non-arrival of the doctor, patients kept waiting in DDU Shimla since morning. DDU Shimla OPD remained closed. Due to this, patients have to face a lot of trouble.

Even after receiving assurance from Chief Minister Sukhu, the demands of the doctors have not been fulfilled. Due to this there is anger among the doctors.
On the other hand, President of Himachal Medical Officers Association, Rajesh Rana said that the Himachal government has closed the NPA during the disaster. Promotion of doctors has been put on hold. A meeting has also been held with the CM. But the demands have not been heeded yet. Rajesh Rana said that the Doctors Association has decided to go on mass leave on Thursday.
Doctors went on mass strike, hospital superintendent took charge in Solan –
In Solan District, medical officers have gone on mass leave after their demands were not met in hospitals across the district. Due to medical officers going on mass leave, patients are not getting treatment facilities in the hospitals of Solan district on Thursday.
However, people are being given treatment only in emergency situations. Let us tell you that for a long time the doctors were on Quit the Pen strike for many demands including NPA. Earlier, the doctors were protesting by wearing black badges regarding their demands. But now all the doctors have gone on mass leave due to Himachal government not accepting the demands.

Even in the regional hospital, OPD is not being held since 9:30 am. Seeing the problems of the patients, Medical Superintendent Dr. SL Verma took command. Medical Superintendent Dr. SL Verma is providing facilities to the patients coming to the hospital. On the other hand, after going on strike, the doctors also organized a blood donation camp.
Doctors donated blood in Kullu hospital –
Doctors in Regional Hospital Kullu are also on mass leave today. Patients have to face problems due to lack of treatment in OPD. When patients from remote areas came to Kullu Hospital for treatment, they faced disappointment.
However, emergency services continued at the trauma centre. There was silence outside the OPD. However, the doctors who went on strike donated blood in the blood donation camp.
Health services badly affected in Kinnaur district also –
Even in the hospital of Kinnaur district, doctors are on mass leave as their demands are not met. However, people are being given treatment only in emergency situations. For a long time, the doctors were on Quit Pen Strike demanding many demands including NPA. Earlier, the doctors were protesting by wearing black badges regarding their demands. But now due to Himachal government not accepting the demands, all the doctors of Kinnaur district have gone on mass leave.
