Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that to further improve the work of doctors in the state, work is being done to start eight-hour shifts. Exposure tours to foreign countries are also going to be organized for the doctors to get latest technology in the health care sector in the state and to upgrade the skills of the doctors.

CM Sukhu has instructed the Himachal Health Department to digitize the data of the health department officials to streamline the functioning of the doctors.

Instructions have been given to form a committee under the chairmanship of Special Secretary Health on Tuesday to consider the complaints and demands of the medical officers.

This committee will include the Director of the Health Department, Director of Medical Education and representatives of the Medical Officers Association.

This committee will study various aspects related to promotion of doctors and recommend various guidelines for the welfare of doctors.

In Himachal Pradesh, doctors have been providing services in hospitals wearing black badges for the last 25 days.

Due to this this meeting was called. Chief Minister Sukhu said that despite the dire financial situation, the state government is sympathetically considering the demands of the doctors.

He called upon the doctors to cooperate with the state government as much as possible in improving the economy of the state. To meet the shortage of doctors and paramedical staff in the health sector, Himachal Government is recruiting doctors and supporting staff.

Health Minister Dhani Ram Shandil, Health Secretary M Sudha Devi, Special Secretaries Neeraj Kumar and Dr. Ashwini Kumar Sharma, Director Health Dr. Gopal Beri and representatives of the doctors’ association were present in this meeting.

On the other hand, Doctors Association President Rajesh Rana said that no concrete decision was taken on NPA in the meeting. Assurance has been received from the CM to fulfill other demands. The struggle is going to continue until the points discussed in the meeting come out.

Association officials said that the struggle will continue until the minutes of the meeting are revealed.
