Himachal Cabinet: Candidates get one year age relaxation in constable recruitment, appointment of 6297 early childhood care and education trainers in education department
Shimla, June 18: In the State Cabinet meeting held at Himachal Pradesh Secretariat, Shimla on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Honorable Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, an important decision was taken to give one year relaxation in the maximum age limit of the candidates for the most important recruitment of 1226 posts of constable in Himachal Pradesh Police Department, so that now the general category candidates from 18 to 26 years of age, Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Class, Gorkha, eminent sportspersons from 18 to 28 years and Home Guards from 20 to 29 years of age will be eligible for the recruitment of 1226 posts of constable in Himachal Pradesh Police Department.
In order to provide the best quality education to the children, the State Cabinet has decided to appoint 6297 early childhood care & education trainers by the Himachal Pradesh Education Department as well as fill more than 6630 vacant posts in various departments of the state.
The State Cabinet took an important decision to fill 200 posts of Medical Officers in Himachal Pradesh Health and Family Welfare Department. Apart from this, the Cabinet also took an important decision to fill 22 posts of Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor in various medical colleges of the state.
With the aim of providing better medical facilities to the people of the state near their homes, the State Cabinet has taken an important decision to fill three posts of Professor and two posts of Associate Professor in Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar Government Medical College, Nahan, two posts of Professor and one post of Associate Professor in Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College, Nerchowk, Mandi, Four posts of Professor in various departments and five posts each of Associates and Assistant Professors in Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru Government Medical College, Chamba.
Also, the State Cabinet has decided to fill eight posts of Emergency Medical Officer in Tanda Medical College and five posts of Assistant Professor in Chamba Medical College.
It has been decided to appoint supporting staff like staff nurse, operation theatre assistant, technician, multi task worker etc. to make the trauma centre functional in Tanda Medical College and Chamba Medical College.

The state cabinet decided to fill 84 posts of various categories in Himachal Pradesh Administrative Tribunal.
In the meeting of the State Cabinet, it was decided to fill 13 posts of various categories in Himachal Pradesh Town and Country Planning Department for strengthening the newly formed four lane planning areas in the state.
It was decided to fill four posts of youth organizers in Himachal Pradesh Youth Services and Sports Department.
The State Cabinet has entrusted the responsibility of direct recruitment to Group C posts under various State Government and State Public Sector Undertakings, Boards, Corporations, Local Bodies to the Himachal Pradesh State Selection Commission.
The Cabinet decided to open the office of Superintending Engineer of Public Works Department and the office of Superintendent of Police at Dehra in Kangra district. Due to the Model Code of Conduct being in force due to by-election in Dehra Assembly Constituency, it was decided to issue the notification later. It was also decided in the Cabinet meeting to open the Divisional Office of Electricity Board at Haroli in Una district.
The Cabinet also decided to constitute a Cabinet sub-committee headed by Industry Minister Harshwardhan Chouhan to prepare guidelines to promote tourism in Himachal Pradesh and remove irregularities in the operation of home-stay facilities.Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh, Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh and Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani will be members of the Cabinet sub-committee.
Also, it was decided to form a cabinet sub-committee under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri to formulate measures and guidelines to save the precious resources of the state. Agriculture Minister Chandra Kumar, Industry Minister Harshvardhan Chauhan and Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani will be the members of the cabinet sub-committee.
The cabinet also reviewed the forest fires, drought situation, water crisis and monsoon situation in Himachal Pradesh.
