Shimla, July 13: In the by-elections held on 3 assembly seats of Himachal Pradesh, Congress has won two seats, while BJP has won one seat. CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s wife Kamlesh Thakur has won the election from Dehra assembly seat by 9,399 votes. She defeated BJP’s Hoshyar Singh. In Nalagarh, Bawa Hardeep Singh has won by 8,990 votes. BJP’s Ashish Sharma has won the election from CM Sukhu’s home district Hamirpur by 1571 votes. After the victory, there is a celebratory atmosphere at CM’s official residence Oak Over. Sweets and firecrackers are being burst.
CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that Congress has won two seats. After the survey in Dehra, the high command gave ticket to Kamlesh Thakur. The people of Dehra and Nalagarh have taught a lesson to the BJP. He said that this is a lesson for those who topple the government elected by the people’s votes on the strength of money.

The CM said that the BJP conspired to topple the Congress government of Himachal Pradesh and bought Congress MLAs. Three independent MLAs resigned from their posts. In 6 by-elections, Congress won four and in three by-elections, Congress won two. In 2022, Congress had 40 MLAs and now the number of Congress MLAs has again become 40.
At the same time, Himachal Pradesh Congress President Pratibha Singh thanked the voters for this victory. He said that wherever by-elections have been held across the country, India Alliance has won. Congress has won two out of three seats in Himachal Pradesh. The promises made by the Congress to the people of the state are being fulfilled. On the victory of Chief Minister’s wife Kamlesh Thakur from Dehra in Himachal Pradesh, Himachal’s PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh said that this is the first time in the history of Himachal that the husband is the Chief Minister and the wife will be the MLA. On winning 2 seats in Himachal, he said that the India alliance has become strong in the country. India alliance has won the by-elections held in the country. Congress will perform well in the elections to be held in Haryana and other states. BJP should also learn a lesson now and help in the development of the state and play its role as the opposition.
