Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, March 09: Himachal Pradesh government has so far released the first installment of Rs 3 lakh to 2,968 families for the houses damaged in the disaster. Now the second installment of Rs 4 lakh is also going to be released soon. Giving complete information, Honorable Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has said that till now financial assistance has been given to 22 thousand disaster affected people through the special relief package issued by the Himachal Pradesh Government. Himachal Pradesh government is helping with a special relief package of Rs 4500 crore brought for relief and rehabilitation. CM Sukhu said that more than 10 thousand families have been given assistance to repair partially damaged houses and about 1800 families have been given assistance for the loss of livestock.

CM Sukhu has said that Himachal Pradesh government has also given assistance to the farmers for crop loss and loss of cultivable land, which has provided relief to about 2600 farmers of Himachal Pradesh. CM Sukhu said that compensation has also been given to the owners of 507 shops and dhabas that were damaged.

CM Sukhu has said that the financial assistance has been released as per the revised norms, under which the relief package has been increased manifold. CM Sukhu has said that despite the dire circumstances, the Central Government did not help at all in providing relief and rehabilitation to the disaster affected families. Apart from this, Himachal government is also providing free ration, gas connection, free electricity-water connection and cement at government rates to the disaster affected families.
