Congress candidate Abhishek Manu Singhvi had lost the election. BJP candidate Harsh Mahajan was declared the winner on the basis of the result of lottery system after a tie, regarding which Abhishek Manu Singhvi has reached Himachal Pradesh High Court on Saturday to file a petition.

Abhishek Manu Singhvi says that both the candidates got 34-34 votes. Later, when names were drawn from the lottery system, his name appeared, but the way the candidate won in this slip system is wrong.
Abhishek Manu Singhvi said that there is no provision in the law that a candidate whose name is drawn through the lottery system loses. The one whose name appears in circulation wins, but the lottery system used in Rajya Sabha elections is the opposite, which is being challenged in the HP High Court.

It is noteworthy that on February 27, elections were held on one seat of Himachal Rajya Sabha, in which six rebel Congress MLAs, including three independents, voted against Congress candidate Abhishek Manu Singhvi.
The matter was stuck at 34-34 in the Himachal Assembly of 68 members. After the tie, the name was drawn through lottery system, in which Harsh Mahajan was declared the winner.
Now the process of the lottery system is being challenged in the Himachal High Court by Abhishek Manu Singhvi.
