Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Sundernagar, June 01The voting process for the Lok Sabha and Assembly by-elections in Himachal Pradesh is going on since 7 am under the last phase.On one hand, the Election Commission has claimed that all preparations for the voting have been completed. On the other hand, voters in 5 booths of Sundernagar Assembly constituency of Mandi district had to face trouble due to malfunctioning of EVMs.
Due to malfunctioning of EVMs, all the mistakes of the local administration regarding election preparations have been exposed.Due to malfunctioning of EVM machines at 5 booths of Sundernagar Assembly constituency, all the voters are being made to wait for several hours and many voters have returned to their homes due to heatwave without casting their votes.
The Mandi district administration has hurriedly brought EVM machines to the polling station and restarted the election process.
DSP Sundernagar and Mandi district administration officials have reviewed the technical faults on the spot regarding the problems of EVM shutdown.Also, Sundernagar MLA Rakesh Jamwal visited five polling booths where EVM machines were not functioning and reviewed all the arrangements on the spot.
MLA Rakesh Jamwal said that information is being received about EVM machines malfunctioning at various polling booths in Sundernagar assembly constituency.Rakesh Jamwal said that due to malfunctioning of EVM machines, voters of Sundernagar assembly constituency have been forced to return home without casting their votes.He said that such a period of chaos has not been seen in the last 25 years.The officials of Mandi district administration are not paying attention to the problem of malfunctioning of EVM machines. Rakesh Jamwal said that a conspiracy is being hatched regarding less polling booths in Sundernagar assembly constituency.
