Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Solan, April 10: Solan Police of Himachal Pradesh has arrested the main Kingpin of the inter-state bike theft gang, Manoj alias Manu, son of Jeet Lal, resident of Nepal, from Jabli. Moreover, the police was carrying forward the investigation with the aim of destroying the inter-state bike theft gang. This big success has been achieved in this regard.

Investigation has also revealed that a case is registered against the main Kingpin in Shimla also. Accused Manoj has been sent to the court in judicial custody for 14 days. Investigation also revealed that Manoj’s gang had stolen motorcycles in many areas of Solan. A 350 cc KTM bike has been recovered from the Nepal border at the behest of the accused. The price of the 350 cc KTM bike is around Rs 3.5 lakh.

It is noteworthy that three members of the gang had already been arrested. It was only after rigorous interrogation that the Solan police got the clue of the main kingpin.

On February 1, Neeraj Negi had filed a case of bike theft from Shamti. On March 29, the police arrested Gopal Bahadur and Rajiv Magar, residents of Nepal, from Kala Amb in Sirmour. The accused belongs to ‘Heera Bike Gang’ of bike theft.

During investigation, the police had come to know that ‘Heera Bike Gang’ gang is involved in stealing bikes in Shimla, Sirmour and Solan. ‘Heera Bike Gang’ has stolen 15 bikes. It is also being told that incidents of bike theft have been committed in other states also.

SP Solan Gaurav Singh said that the interstate bike theft gang has been exposed. The SP said that a detailed investigation is going on so that it can also be found out where thefts have been committed in other states. Also where were the stolen bikes sold.

It is noteworthy that gangs are active which steal bikes and other vehicles and take them across the border to Nepal. Recently, Sirmour police had caught a gang involved in theft from a mobile shop in Rajgarh even before they entered the border of Nepal.
