Himachal Big News: Notification of Arrears of Employees and Pensioners in Himachal Pradesh Withdrawn
Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, March 05:Â The orders issued by the Sukhu Government of Himachal Pradesh regarding pay scales and DA liabilities of employees and pensioners have been withdrawn. The Sukhu government had issued orders to give pay scales to employees and pensioners on March 4 and March 2. Now Sukhu government has withdrawn the orders by issuing separate notifications late on Tuesday evening. It is estimated that there was anger among the employees after the orders for payment of arrears. Sukhu government does not want the displeasure of the employees before the Lok Sabha elections. In view of this, the Sukhu government has withdrawn the notifications related to arrears.

Actually, the employees were demanding lump sum arrears instead of pieces. All India National Educational Federation opposed the payment of arrears in a phased manner by the Sukhu government and said that a big game has been played with the employees of the Himachal. All India National Educational Federation says that Sukhu government will have to pay arrears of salary and DA in lump sum to the employees of the Himachal.
Let us tell you that yesterday the Himachal Government had issued a notification to the employees and pensioners for payment of arrears of the revised pay scale as per the recommendations of the Sixth Punjab Pay Commission. Under this, 0.25 percent of arrears per month was payable along with salary or pension. Three percent of the arrears were to be paid to the Sukhu government in one year. Employees retired after 2016 are to receive four types of arrears, which include pension, gratuity, leave encashment arrears. If the arrears of the revised pay scale of an employee is Rs 100, then he will continue to be paid Rs 3 every year.
According to the notification regarding arrears issued by the Sukhu government, the amount of arrears of 18 months was to be paid in installments. Along with the arrears of pay scale, the state government had also notified the payment of arrears of installment of Dearness Allowance (DA) payable to the employees in July 2022. Under this, the employees were to get four percent DA in the salary for the month of April in May, due from July 2022.
Earlier, the employees were to get the amount of DA arrears of about 18 months in instalments. The employees were to be given one and a half percent of DA arrears along with every month salary in the financial year 2024-25.
