Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, June 14 :The Bharatiya Janata Party has announced the names of its candidates for the by-elections to be held in three assembly constituencies of Himachal Pradesh.

The Bharatiya Janata Party has given tickets to all three former independent MLAs in the three assembly seats of Dehra, Hamirpur and Nalagarh for the by-election.

The Bharatiya Janata Party has given tickets to Hoshyar Singh from Dehra assembly constituency, Ashish Sharma from Hamirpur assembly constituency and KL Thakur from Nalagarh assembly constituency. The names of the candidates have not been announced by the ruling Congress party yet.

It is worth mentioning that in the 2022 Himachal Pradesh assembly elections, all three assembly seats of Dehra, Hamirpur and Nalagarh were won by independent candidates. In which Hoshyar Singh from Dehra assembly constituency, Ashish Sharma from Hamirpur assembly constituency and KL Thakur from Nalagarh assembly constituency won in the Himachal Pradesh assembly elections of the year 2022.

Also, the three independent MLAs of Himachal Pradesh were first supporting the ruling Congress party government. But in the election for a Rajya Sabha seat of Himachal Pradesh on 27 February 2024, all three independent MLAs of Himachal Pradesh voted in favor of BJP candidate Harsh Mahajan.Later, all three independent MLAs of Himachal Pradesh resigned from the assembly membership and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.

On June 3, a day before the results of the voting on four Lok Sabha seats and six assembly by-elections seats in Himachal Pradesh, the resignation of all three independent MLAs of Himachal Pradesh was accepted by Himachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania.

Now the Election Commission is going to hold polling in the three assembly constituencies of the three former independent MLAs of Himachal Pradesh on July 10 and the results will be announced after the counting of votes on July 13.

After the announcement of tickets by the BJP, the angry leaders of its camp will have to be prevented from making the contest triangular –

After the Bharatiya Janata Party high command gave tickets to the three former independent MLAs, a period of rebellion may start among the BJP leaders of their constituencies.Let us tell you that the displeasure of ticket cutting is clearly visible among the leaders who were BJP candidates in the 2022 Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections.

In the 2022 Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections, BJP had given tickets to former minister Ramesh Dhawala from Dehra assembly constituency, Narendra Thakur from Hamirpur assembly constituency and Lakhwinder Rana from Nalagarh assembly constituency. All the three candidates of BJP had to face defeat in the 2022 Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections. Now, due to not getting the ticket in the by-election, resentment can be seen among the supporters of the three former BJP candidates.

In the recent by-elections held on six assembly seats in Himachal Pradesh, BJP had given tickets to six former MLAs who had joined BJP from Congress.

Six former Congress MLAs had joined BJP after being disqualified for violating the Congress party whip after cross voting in the Rajya Sabha elections, But in the by-elections held on six assembly seats of Himachal Pradesh, BJP was able to win only two out of six seats.
