Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur said that my plaque installed at the Chief Minister’s official residence Oakover regarding the inauguration of the dialogue class and lift has also been removed.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said in the House that now names of former MLAs will not be written on the foundation stone laying ceremony and inauguration plaques in Himachal Pradesh.

Ending the old tradition that has been going on for years, only the names of elected public representatives and leaders holding government responsibilities are going to be written on the inauguration and foundation stone laying plaques.

Officers are going to be warned by issuing a notification in this regard. If any officer starts a new tradition then strict action is going to be taken against him.

BJP MLA Purna Chand raised the issue of inauguration and foundation stone laying plaques –

Raising questions, BJP MLA Purna Chand Thakur said that the names of leaders who lost the elections in Drang assembly constituency are being put on the inauguration and foundation stone plaques. He asked under what rules and on whose orders this was done. MLA Rakesh Jambal said that such cases have also come to light in Sundernagar. Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur said that he was invited as the chief guest at the annual function of Bagsiad School. Just three days after this program, all the teachers from that school were transferred. This wrong tradition has started. In response, the Chief Minister said that if the names of former MLAs are put on such plaques, it will start a wrong tradition and it will have to be stopped. This will not happen in future and wherever this has happened, it will be found out. CM Sukhu said that a plaque can be installed of the public representative who receives honorarium and salary from the government. He said that the Congress government does not remove the plaques, rather it believes in placing plaques in the hearts of the people.

Electricity meters will reach all divisions of the state in a week: Sukhu

Chief Minister Sukhu said that electricity meters will reach all the divisions of the state within a week. The Chief Minister has also given assurance of recruitment of outsourced and multipurpose workers to overcome the shortage of staff in the Electricity Board. During the question hour, the Chief Minister said that we have come into the government only to address the pain of MLA Rajendra Rana and other MLAs. The supply of meters has reached the central store. The Chief Minister said that after the year 2021, there have been 29 lakh electricity meters in the state, whereas according to the family register, there are 20 lakh families in the state. This needs improvement. The shortage of staff in the electricity department will be removed. 6000 posts of various categories are being filled in the board. Transformers will be made available on priority in places with difficult geographical conditions. He said that the Central Government had approved a project worth Rs 3701 crore for Himachal. Under this, smart meters will be installed. Its tender process is in the final stage. Earlier, Congress MLA Rajendra Rana said that there is a shortage of electric poles, service wires and meters across the state. He has also demanded to remove the shortage of staff in the board. MLA Vinod Kumar said that in his area there are neither poles nor meters nor service wires for taking new connections. Consumers are also being asked for service wire. MLAs Dr. Janak Raj, Dr. Hansraj and Sukhram Chaudhary have also raised questions regarding this matter.

Compensation will be given in case of 33 percent loss to Rabi crop: Chandra Kumar

Agriculture Minister Chaudhary Chandra Kumar said that due to drought situation in the state, Rabi crop has suffered 15 percent loss. It has rained only once since December. And if it rains, it will be beneficial for the crops. If there is 33 percent loss to crops, the government will compensate the farmers. In response to the question of Congress MLA Chandrashekhar, the Agriculture Minister said that the Agriculture Department will conduct the survey again in a week or two. On that basis the loss will then be compensated as per the relief manual.

Central government sanctioned money to the houses of 10,023 people: Anirudh Singh

Rural Development Minister Anirudh Singh has said that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin, the Central Government has allotted 10,023 houses to Himachal in the year 2023-24. All these houses have been sanctioned to the eligible beneficiaries till January 15. An amount of Rs 1.30 lakh has been provided to every beneficiary by the Central Government. In response to the question of BJP MLA Sukhram Chaudhary, the Rural Development Minister said that the state government has included this amount in the special relief package released by the Centre. Including this amount, a total of Rs 7 lakh is being given to the people who lost their houses in the disaster to build houses.

Laughter over Dhangu Kuhal: Gandhi

BJP MLA Inder Singh Gandhi has expressed his displeasure over the written reply of the government. He said that even after spending money, he is not getting any benefit. On this, Industries Minister Harsh Vardhan Chauhan has given detailed information about Dhangu Kuhal. On this the MLA sarcastically said that I asked a question about Shivpuran and the minister narrated Ramayana. There was a lot of laughter in the house on this.

Seven cases of sexual exploitation of students by teachers came to light in three years: Rohit Thakur

Education Minister Rohit Thakur said that in the last three years till January 15, 2024, seven cases of sexual exploitation of students by teachers have been reported. A teacher was dismissed from government service. This teacher has been re-appointed after being acquitted by the court. While giving a written reply to the question of BJP MLA Rakesh Jamwal, the Education Minister said that punitive action has been taken against a teacher. After the court acquitted the teacher in this case, the Directorate of Education has also canceled the earlier orders issued against the teacher. A committee has been formed to investigate the case against another teacher. Departmental action is going on against the remaining four teachers.

Bulk drug and medical device park will be set up on government’s terms: Sukhu

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that a bulk drug park will also be established in Himachal Pradesh and a medical device park will also be built. Both the projects will be implemented on the government’s terms and conditions. He has accused the former BJP government of selling land to industries in Himachal Pradesh. CM said that the previous government gave land to industries free of cost and on lease at one rupee. Sukhu said that there was investment drain in the state during the previous government. While development of industries should have been in the interest of Himachal Pradesh, it has not happened. Responding to the allegations of former Industries Minister Bikram Singh Thakur in the Assembly, the Chief Minister said that the previous government had given land on lease at Re 1 to industrialists to bring investment here. Electricity rates have been reduced. The previous government had given 600 bighas of land on lease at the rate of one rupee. Now everything is being leased to them. The government is not ready to bring such investment to Himachal, rather the investment will be brought only after taking full care of the interests of Himachali.

Big industry worth Rs 280 crore in Kangra district:

Sukhu said that a big industry worth Rs 280 crore has been brought in Kangra, in which the government will also get GST and the electricity rate has also not been reduced. Himachal Pradesh needs such industries. The government gets 22 percent GST in the hospitality sector.

Center will get only Rs 70 crore for medical device park

CM said that only Rs 70 crore is to be received from the Center for the Medical Device Park, whereas 1200 bighas of land worth crores has been given free of cost. The electricity rate which is Rs 7 per unit, is given to the industries at the rate of Rs 3 per unit.

Looking for strategic partner for bulk drug park: Harsh Vardhan

Industry Minister Harsh Vardhan Singh said that the previous government only did the foundation of Bulk Drug Park and Medical Device Park, after which the entire work is being done by the present government. Looking for a strategic partner for the Bulk Drug Park, which will bring an investment of Rs 900 crore. A consultant has been hired in this. It will be made on PPMod. The government is working rapidly on both the projects.

The present government should provide evidence as to which land was sold.

BJP MLA Randhir Sharma said that the Chief Minister has accused the previous government of selling the lands. Therefore, the Chief Minister should provide evidence as to which land has been sold.
