Himachal: Arrests of Rs 10 crore 60 lakh by various departments due to Model Code of Conduct

Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, April 27: Addressing the press conference, the spokesperson of the State Election Department said that due to the seventh and final phase of voting in Himachal Pradesh, Model Code of Conduct has been imposed. And also, all the special teams and various departments of Himachal Pradesh Police have so far made arrests of 10 crore 60 lakh, which include liquor from bottling points, Cash and valuables have been seized.

The spokesperson also said that 5.28 lakh liters of illicit liquor worth Rs 7.59 crore has been arrested by the teams of Himachal Tax and Excise & Police Departments.

Apart from this, 37.85 kg hashish worth Rs 75.70 lakh, 1.91 kg heroin worth Rs 1.34 crore and cash worth Rs 29.18 lakh have been seized by the Himachal Police Department.

Also, gold and silver jewelery worth Rs 6.85 lakh has been seized.
