Hamirpur's Deepika Rana becomes Lieutenant, will serve in Kolkata

Hamirpur, August 29: Deepika Rana of village Poar of Gram Panchayat Beed Bagehra of subdivision Sujanpur Tihra of the district has brought laurels to her parents, teachers, village and the entire region by getting selected for the post of Lieutenant in the Military Nursing Service. Deepika will now serve as a Lieutenant in Base Hospital Barrackpore, Kolkata.

Deepika did her 10th and 12th from Government Girls Senior Secondary School and has obtained a BSc (Hons) Nursing degree from Lakshmi Bai College of Nursing, Delhi. Her father Santosh Kumar Rana is retired from Engineers India Limited, while mother Jeevan Lata Rana is a housewife. Deepika’s elder sister Sapna Rana is a nursing officer in Banaras Hindu University, and brother Amit Rana is employed in MOPNG.

Deepika has attributed her success to her parents and family. She has given a message to the youth that success is not achieved only by wishes, but by hard work and continuous efforts.
