Hamirpur (Himachal Pradesh) – Thieves made away with jewelery worth Rs 18 lakh and cash worth Rs 7 lakh from the house of a retired army officer in Nadaun in Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh.
The thieves entered the house of a retired army officer by breaking the grill outside the room and made away with jewelery worth Rs 18 lakh and cash worth Rs 7 lakh.
An incident of theft worth Rs 25 lakh has been registered from the house of a retired army officer in Nadaun of Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh. The entire incident was carried out by thieves taking away jewelery worth eighteen lakh rupees and cash worth seven lakh rupees from the house of a retired army officer in ward number two in Nadaun city of Hamirpur district.
The details of the entire incident came to light on Wednesday evening when after almost a week all the family members of the retired army officer returned from their relatives’ house and found the grill outside the house broken.
Retired army officer Colonel PC Kaushal is resident of Yol in Kangra district due to his government job.
When retired army officer Colonel PC Kaushal reached his family’s house on Thursday to celebrate Diwali, the first thing he saw was that the grill of the front room was broken and all the household items were lying here and there.
Retired army officer Colonel PC Kaushal said that the thieves broke the grill outside the room and entered inside and made away with the jewelery and cash.
Colonel PC Kaushal told that the total value of gold jewelery is more than eighteen lakh rupees. On the other hand, thieves have also made away with cash worth Rs 7 lakh from the house.
Colonel PC Kaushal told that the jewelery worth eighteen lakh rupees kept inside the house included two sets of bangles, two neck chains, two hand bangles, a set of mangalsutra, two sets of rings along with gold jewelery worth three hundred grams. The thieves also made away with silver jewelery worth about one and a half kilos.
On the other hand, Nadaun police station in-charge of Hamirpur district has reached the spot with all his teams and has started the entire investigation process.
Nadaun Superintendent of Police Hamirpur Dr. Aakriti Sharma told Diary Times correspondent Kumud Sharma that a complaint of theft has been registered from the house of retired army officer Colonel PC Kaushal and the entire investigation has been started by the teams of Nadaun police station of Hamirpur district police.
