Due to heavy rains in hamirpur district, a loss of about ninety crore rupees has been estimated. The maximum damage has been done to the Jal Shakti and Public Works Department. Dozens of drinking water schemes have been ruined in the district and heavy damage has been caused to the drinking water schemes due to siltation in the Beas river.
Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa told that a loss report will be prepared and sent to the government, so that it can be compensated. The maximum loss of IPH schemes has happened, around fifty five crores. PWD’s is around twenty five crores. Together both make eighty crores.
After that, the rest of the damage is not due to monsoon here. However, there have been deaths due to other road accidents and different accidents, but their contribution is not there in monsoons. There were raw houses, some animals have been damaged.
Although this loss, as I said, is very less in comparison to the assets of the department, and for this loss, as per relief manual, those people are being given immediate relief and later, by preparing the entire case, as per their manual Relief is being provided to them.
