His Excellency Governor of Himachal Pradesh Shiv Pratap Shukla and his wife Jyoti Shukla formally inaugurated the National Holi Fair by participating as chief guests. Earlier, on reaching Hamirpur, Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla was warmly welcomed by Hamirpur District Deputy Commissioner and Fair Committee Chairman Amarjeet Singh, Sub Divisional Officer Dr. Rohit Sharma and other administrative officials. This time, Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla cut the ribbon and flagged off the National Holi Fair procession to Jaleb. After this, Chief Guest Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla came forward leading the procession and a turban ceremony was organized in the honor of Chief Guest Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla by the Hamirpur District Administration near the Police Assistance Room near Sujanpur Central Bus Stand.

Here the chief guest Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla was honored by wearing a turban. After this, chief guest Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla reached the ancient tableaux installed at the bus stand and participated in the worship. During this time, artists invited from Mathura Vrindavan by the Hamirpur district administration added to the procession of Holi fair. After this, marching on foot, they reached Murli Manohar Temple, the starting point of the fair. After reaching the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, he participated in the worship along with chanting of Vedic mantras. Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla took stock of the ancient musical instruments which were the center of attraction in the fair. He also played tamak. Chief guest Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla said that it is a matter of pride that the National Holi Fair, which has been going on since the time of Maharaja Sansar Chand, is being celebrated even today with the same joy and enthusiasm.
