Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Hamirpur, March 16: A case of suicide has come to light in the sub jail of Hamirpur district. According to the information received, a convicted prisoner has committed suicide by hanging himself with a blanket in the sub jail located at Dosadka. As soon as the information was received, jail officers, judicial officers and administrative officers reached the spot. Why a prisoner committed suicide in a high security jail is a big question.

According to the information received, a prisoner Deep Chad (38) son of Madanlal village Pathalyar tehsil Badsar district Hamirpur has committed suicide.

The deceased Deep Chand had come to Sub Jail Hamirpur on 24th February this year to serve his sentence. He was convicted under Section 376 IPC and POCSO Act.

The deceased Deep Chand went to the bathroom of Sub jail and committed suicide by hanging himself with a blanket. This incident has raised new questions regarding the security arrangements of the jail.
