The winner told – This is my first position in the half marathon and my time is one hour, ten minutes, thirty seconds. I would tell the youth to stay away from drugs and keep practicing.

If not today then one day you will also come first and that means keep practicing, never give up. Half marathon was conducted today. In this I have secured second position and I want to give this message to the youth here that they should be healthy.

The winning players were felicitated by District Deputy Commissioner Arindan Chowdhary. He described sports as a better medium for the youth to stay away from vices like drugs. I hope that we will continue to organize similar programs in the future so that we promote what is meant for sports persons and hope that more people will participate in such competitions.

District Sports Officer Jagdish Nayak said that such competitions will be organized in future also. The effort to get the marathon done is that all our children, who are going towards drugs in today’s era, have to be kept away from drugs and they have to be encouraged to come forward in sports as much as possible.
