Shimla, November 15: The 555th Prakash Parv of the first Sikh Guru Nanak Dev Ji is being celebrated with pomp across the country. In Shimla too, programs are being organized in Gurudwaras on the occasion of Guru Nanak’s Prakash Parv. Guru Granth Sahib was lit up at 4:45 am by Gurudwara Singh Sabha Shimla. Along with this, Nitnem Paath, Sukhmani Sahib, Akhand Paath, Sahaj Paath Sahib were done. Ragi Baljit Singh, who came from Ludhiana, delighted the Kirtan Sangat.
On this occasion, Jaswinder Singh, President of Gurudwara Singh Sabha Shimla, shared that many of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings were being shared with the congregation that gathered at the Gurudwara for Guru Nanak Jayanti. He emphasized that Guru Nanak Dev Ji had spread the light of knowledge for social reform, which is why his birth anniversary is celebrated as Prakash Parv.
