Fifty Percent Import Duty on American Apples and 100 percent duty on Walnuts Will Continue – Piyush Goyal
The Central Government has said that fifty percent duty on American apples and 100 percent duty on walnuts will continue.
Union Minister Piyush Goyal has said that only twenty percent additional duty has been removed.
He said that in 2019, American products like apples And twenty percent additional duty was imposed on walnuts.
This step was taken in response to America’s protectionist measures regarding increasing duties on Indian steel and aluminum products.
The Union Minister said that these additional duties imposed by India on American products have been withdrawn after the US agreed to provide market access to steel and aluminum products under the exception process.
He said that additional preferential treatment on apples, walnuts and almonds There has been no reduction in the nation’s duty.
These duties are still imposed on all imported products including American products. The Union Minister said that due to this there will be no negative impact on the apple, walnut and almond producers of the country.
