Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla/Nahan, April 07: Himachal Pradesh Transport Corporation (HRTC) has announced free bus travel for Muslim women on the occasion of Eid. This facility will be available from 5 am to 7 pm on the day of Eid. The facility will be available from sunrise to sunset. The facility of free bus travel will be available only within the state. Fare will have to be paid if you go out of the state. Let us tell you that although the festival of Eid depends on the sighting of the moon, the government has declared Eid holiday on 11th April.

In the Himachal, women also get the facility of free bus travel on the occasion of Karva Chauth and Rakshabandhan, but this time also it has been decided to provide this facility to Muslim women. Women had got such facility in 2021 also.

To avail the facility, women will have to keep Aadhar card or other ID proof with them. According to the information, orders have been issued on Saturday at the level of the Managing Director of the Corporation. Since Sunday is a holiday, action will be taken at the regional manager level on Monday.

On the other hand, Anjuman Islamia Nahan President Bobby Ahmed has expressed gratitude to the corporation management for providing free bus facility to Muslim women.

Moreover, Sirmour and Chamba districts have the highest population of Muslim women. Apart from this, there is population in other districts also.
