Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, April 28: Himachal Pradesh Government’s Education Minister and senior Congress Party leader Rohit Thakur, while addressing a press conference in Shimla on Sunday, has accused the former Jairam government of sinking the education system of the state.

He said that during the time of Bharatiya Janata Party government, Himachal Pradesh was ranked 18th in the whole of India in terms of quality education, But since the formation of the Congress Party government in the state, many ambitious schemes have been started in the last fifteen months, due to which a lot of changes are taking place in the field of education today. Rohit Thakur said that the present government of the state is trying day and night to improve vocational education as well as to provide employment to the youth and connect them with self-employment.

Rohit Thakur said that the present government is running direct and batchwise recruitment process to fill more than seven thousand posts of JBT, TGT, PGT and college lecturer under the education department.

He said that after the recruitment, there will be no shortage of teachers in the schools and colleges of the state and also a school cluster scheme is going on in all the schools of Himachal Pradesh to increase the availability of adequate resources and the utilization of resources.

He said that in all the government schools of the state, English medium is being taught in the first class from the new session.

Besides, pre-nursery classes have also been started in all the primary schools of the state and the process of filling all the vacant posts of nursery teachers has also been started.

Rohit Thakur said that the Himachal Pradesh Government is establishing one Rajiv Gandhi Nodal Day-Boarding School in each assembly of Himachal Pradesh following a phased process.

Which is going to be important in improving the qualitative education ranking of Himachal Pradesh.

Apart from this, the work of sending teachers of the state on foreign tours is also being done so that the teachers will do the work of further improving the education system of the state.

He said that our government has decided to provide School of Excellence status to 850 schools of the state by the year 2024-25.
