Hamirpur, November 20: A case has been registered against two people in the illegal mining case in the Beas river located in the Nadaun area of ​​the Hamirpur district and Yamuna river in Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh. These include Gyan Chand of Nadaun and Sanjay Dhiman of Jawalamukhi. Both of them have been arrested and presented in the special court in Ghaziabad.

According to the information received, both were called to Delhi for questioning where both of them have been taken into custody. According to information received from sources, Gyan Chand was being questioned for a long time. Many times the department’s team had also raided the stone crusher built near Kangra.

It is worth mentioning that ED had received formal complaints and intelligence information, in which it was alleged that illegal sand and mineral mining work is being done on the banks of the Beas river by many mining mafias including Gyan Chand. Hundreds of crores of rupees of criminal proceeds (POC) have been earned from these illegal mining operations. ED started the investigation on the basis of 6 FIRs registered by various police stations of Kangra and Una districts of Himachal related to illegal mining.

According to the FIR, it has been alleged that illegal mining activities are taking place on government land. Tipper, Poclain, JCB and tractors are actively engaged in illegal mining in Una and Kangra districts of Himachal. These vehicles were involved in illegally extracting minerals. As a result, these minerals were being illegally transported to stone crushers by overloaded vehicles. ED first started the investigation from Hamirpur. When raids were conducted on three business establishments of the same family. After the incident, the investigation was conducted for two consecutive days.
