Due to the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, the ex-servicemen of Shimla district who participated in various wars were honored by the District Sainik Welfare Office.

Ex-servicemen of Shimla district who took part in various wars due to Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav were honored today by the District Sainik Welfare Office in capital Shimla.

These soldiers had shown indomitable courage in the 1971 Indo-Pak war and the Kargil war. The ex-soldiers said that such felicitation functions should continue to be organized so that the young generation can know about the valor of the soldiers.

In response to a question asked about the Agniveer announcement, the ex-servicemen said that it is a good plan by the government to get the youth to join the army. There are many youths in the country who want to join the army, but what will happen to them after four years?

Now they will have to think deeply about that but now they have seen and they have to give money also that maybe if they come after four years, they will get ten to twelve lakhs, that who has to do self-employment, study, in future life. If he wants to move forward and do something then that too is his choice.

Meaning, I understand that perhaps this scheme will be successful, how good it would have been if the same function would have been held on August 15 or on our grounds. We were only three men and if three men were honored there, the message would have been received by the public, the message would have been received by the young youth, our generation, be it women, youth or old people, they would know that if such If you go then it is respected.

Another soldier said – Himachal Regiment should be one like other regiments, Jat Regiment, Durga Regiment, although we also jack rifle people come in the regiment but we also think of Himachal.

Deputy Director District Sainik Welfare Office Shimla and Kinnaur Atulya Champa told that during the program those ex-servicemen were honored who did their brave deeds for the country in various wars.
