Divine ‘Kurud’ installed in Shirgul Maharaj’s temple after 22 years
During this, the already prepared Kurud was brought by the devotees with the hands of Dev Vadan and Shirgul Jaikaras and was installed on the peak of the temple. Although the time for the event was fixed between 11:00 and 1:00, but it is believed that the deity himself decides the auspicious time. Due to which the Kurud installation started at 12:56 -12:57 pm.
Thousands of devotees present on the peak became witnesses of this historic religious event. The view of the Churdhar peak situated at a height of 12 and a half thoousand feet was extremely panoramic and supernatural. The devotees present within a radius of about 2 to 3 kilometers of the peak saw this divine view and realized the immense power of Shirgul Maharaj.
This religious event can be considered the most important in the religious history of Shimla and Sirmaur district, because Shirgul Maharaj is the revered deity of both the districts. Thousands of devotees from Shimla and Sirmaur reached the Churdhar peak situated at a height of about 12 and a half thousand feet to witness this religious event, which is called Shant.
This Maha Yagya is a symbol of religious faith and tradition as well as local culture, for which thousands of devotees and sevaks were working together to make it successful. The time for Kurud Sthapana was fixed from 11 am to 1 pm on Friday.
However, the argument being given is that the Shanta Maha Yagya to be held on 11 October is being organized after 52 years. But there is also an argument that a grand temple has been built for the first time.
The crowd of about 25-30 thousand devotees who reached the peak again proved that nothing is in front of faith. The efforts of Chureshwar Seva Samiti and the local administration were also very commendable. Arrangements for food and accommodation of the devotees were made on the peak. For this, the administration had arranged tents in Kalabagh. Here people took shelter in about 1000 tents amidst the icy winds of Churdhar. People of Chaupal, Kupvi, Nerwa and Hamal Panchayats were active in organizing Shant Mahayagya.
Presence of Goga Veer Ji, friend of Shirgul Maharaj was recorded….
Shirgul Ji Maharaj also has a deep relation with Goga Ji Peer. An amazing sight was seen when Goga Ji Maharaj’s Khel also came. There is a special aspect of making people experience divine power. Guga Veer Ji, who is considered to be a friend of Shirgul Maharaj, also made his presence felt in this event, and an amazing sight was seen with his arrival.
Kurud means crown….
Any idol of a deity is considered incomplete without a crown. Similarly, the Pran Pratishtha of any idol in Devbhoomi is not complete until Kurud is installed. When Kurud is installed on the top of the main temple, only then the work of the temple is considered complete. This tradition was carried out on 11 October at the historical place Churdhar of Shirgul Maharaj.
Dev Palanquins bowed down to welcome Kurud…
There was a competition among the local deities to witness the ‘Shant’ Maha Yagya at the holy place of Shirgul Maharaj. However, the process of devotees reaching the peak on Thursday started from the morning. Even till late night, the devotees kept climbing the dense forest with Dev Palanquins, singing praises of Shirgul Maharaj. This process continued till the morning of 11 October. Meanwhile, according to traditions, Dev Palanquins were kept in Kalabagh for the darshan of Kurud.
Devotees sitting on the rocks were removed….
Thousands of devotees were sitting on the rocks all around the peak for the darshan of Dev Palanquins and Kurud. Meanwhile, Dev Palanquins signaled people to come down, as if saying that no one should sit above Shirgul Maharaj’s Kurud.
Pleasant weather filled the spirits…
The mood of the weather does not take long to change on the Churdhar peak, but on this day the weather was completely favorable for the devotees. The sun shone throughout the day, and there was less feeling of cold, due to which the devotees participated in this religious ritual with full enthusiasm and zeal.
Feeling of divine power…
Feeling of divine power in a grand religious event is not a new thing. With the arrival of the deities in the temple premises, the atmosphere became very devotional. The entire valley reverberated with the sound of havan, puja-paath and mantras. Devotional music programs continued. Devotees kept singing praises of Shirgul Maharaj by forming small groups. Along with this, the deity’s play was also seen in many people.
This religious event was not only a symbol of faith and tradition, but was also a reflection of the local culture and dedication of the people. This event was successfully completed with the collective efforts of the devotees and the servants. According to the last information, the work of installing Kurud at other places continued even after 2 pm.
