Dharamshala, June 29: As per the weather forecast issued by the Indian Meteorological Center, a yellow alert has been issued for heavy rains in some places of Kangra district till July 03. Giving this information, Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa said that during the rains, avoid going to landslide prone areas and upper hilly areas, along with this, trekking in bad weather can also be dangerous.

He said that people have been prohibited from going near rivers and drains so that no untoward incident takes place. He said that all Panchayat representatives have also been instructed to remain alert. He urged that in view of heavy rains, unnecessary travel should not be undertaken, people should stay in safe places and they should not take any kind of risk.

Administration ready for relief and rehabilitation –

Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa said that the district administration is fully prepared for relief and rehabilitation work and all the officers have been instructed to remain in the field with machinery. Instructions have also been given to deploy machinery like JCBs in the areas where there is a possibility of landslides on the roads in the district.

Give immediate information to the control room –

Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa urged the district residents to immediately contact the District Disaster Management Center on toll free number 1077 in case of any kind of emergency. Disaster Management Centers are operational 24 hours a day in all sub-divisions including the district headquarters.
