Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Keylong, April 12: Keeping in view the Lok Sabha and Assembly by-elections, Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar has instructed the officials of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to maintain the smooth functioning of telecommunication services in Lahaul Spiti district, So that people do not have to face any kind of network related inconvenience especially during the election process.

Lahaul Spiti District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar on Friday reviewed various network related issues with BSNL officials in Keylong and directed that the network system in the remote and extremely inaccessible areas of Lahaul Spiti district should be strengthened in time.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited Mandi Zone General Manager Harish Chandran remained connected to the meeting through virtual medium and assured the District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar that the BSNL network is functioning smoothly in Lahaul Spiti district. The network problem of Tingrat Panchayat in Miyar Valley during the recent heavy snowfall has also been rectified by the technicians and services have been restored. Harish Chandran said that telecommunication services are being provided smoothly in other remote areas of the Lahaul Spiti district also.
Lahaul Spiti District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar also took an update on the contact routes from the officials of the Public Works Department in the meeting and directed them to make special repairs to the contact routes of Miyar Valley and other villages and restore them soon. Assistant Returning Officer and SDM Keylong Rajneesh Sharma, BSNL Assistant Engineer Gaurav Sharma, Tehsildar Election Pawan Rana, Pradhan Tingrat Panchayat Anita Kumari and employees of the Election Department were present in the meeting.
