Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Dharamshala, April 15: In view of the Lok Sabha elections-2024, 33 model polling booths will be established in Kangra district, so that people can be motivated to vote as much as possible. In this, two model polling stations each will be established in each constituency and three each in Jawalamukhi, Dehra and Jaswan Pragpur.

Giving information, Kangra District Election Officer, Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa said that guidelines have been given to make proper arrangements for electricity, drinking water, ramps etc. at the polling booths.

In this regard, officials of the Education Department and Panchayati Raj Department have been asked to report the necessary arrangements as per the guidelines of the Election Commission for the establishment of polling booths.

He informed that 29 polling booths will be operated by women in different constituencies of Kangra district. Along with this, eight polling stations for the disabled and the Dadi booth of Dharamshala will be operated by the youth.

He said that to ensure free and fair voting, the Election Commission of India has launched the mobile app C Vigil. Through this app, the general public will be able to report violations of the Model Code of Conduct. He said that redressal of complaints received through C Vigil App should also be ensured within 100 minutes.

He said that the Excise Department has been asked to give daily reports on the sale of liquor etc. and illegal seizure of liquor across the district. Along with this, it has also been asked to do smooth checking at the checkpoints.
