Shimla, November 19: Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. (Colonel) Dhani Ram Shandil said that the state government is committed to strengthening health facilities in the state. He said that continuous work is being done towards providing better health facilities to the people in the remote areas of the state.
Dr. (Colonel) Dhani Ram Shandil was speaking here today through virtual medium while presiding over the meeting of the Governing Body of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti of Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College and Hospital Tanda and Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar Government Medical College and Hospital Nahan. He said that the state government is continuously working to overcome the shortage of doctors and other paramedical staff in remote and rural areas of Himachal, so that better health facilities can be provided to the people near their doorstep.
He said that efforts are being made to provide modern equipment to health institutions. He said that hospitals should be clean and neat like religious places so that patients and their attendants coming for treatment can get a good environment.
He said that just as health services are being provided to the people through community service in Kerala state, with the same approach, efforts will be made to work in the field of health services through community cooperation in the state. He said that there is a continuous demand for making a policy regarding regularization and minimum wages of employees working under RKS in medical colleges and hospitals, this direction will also be considered sympathetically.
While presiding over the meeting of Tanda Medical College and Hospital, the Health Minister said that all such tenders related to various services in medical colleges, whose term has been completed or is about to be completed, will be completed in a new way through HPSEDC.
Vice Chairman of Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Board and MLA Nagarota Bagwan R.S. Bali thanked Dr. (Colonel) Dhani Ram Shandil and said that health facilities are being continuously strengthened in the state. He said that he will gift an e-rickshaw for the convenience of patients in Tanda Medical College.
While chairing the meeting of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti of Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar Government Medical College, Nahan, the Health Minister said that an additional ultrasound machine will be purchased for this institute through the Rogi Kalyan Samiti and a radiologist will also be appointed here soon. With a view to providing burn aid equipment in the hospital, he asked the management to prepare a proposal in this regard and submit it to the government. He said that adequate space should be provided to install an MRI machine in the medical college.
Nahan MLA Ajay Solanki thanked the Health Minister for chairing the Nahan Medical College Rogi Kalyan Samiti meeting. On the demand of the local MLA, the Health Minister directed to provide the list of vacant posts of radiographer in various hospitals in the Sirmaur district so that appointments can be made at those places. In the meeting, various items related to the Rogi Kalyan Samiti of both the medical colleges were discussed in detail.
Health Secretary M. Sudha Devi, Special Secretary Ashwini Kumar, Principals of concerned medical colleges, Medical Superintendents, government and non-official members of Rogi Kalyan Samities attended the meeting virtually.
