The Himachal Pradesh Government led by the Honourable Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has issued a notification to shift all the six major government departments of Himachal Pradesh to the vacant multi-storey parking Tutikandi Bhawan, Shimla. The Government of Himachal Pradesh has decided to shift the emergency response support system of the Women and Child Development Department, Himachal Pradesh State Food Commission, Himachal Pradesh Energy Directorate and Office of the Director General of Himachal Pradesh Police from rented accommodation to multi-storey parking Tutikandi Bhawan, Shimla by January 2024.

The most important objective of this decision of the Himachal Pradesh Government is to ensure proper utilization of the multi-storey parking Tutikandi Bhawan, Shimla which has been lying vacant for a long time and also aims to reduce the public expenses of the Himachal Pradesh Government. On Wednesday, Honourable Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Shri Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has said that at present the office of Himachal Pradesh Police Helpline is already functional in the multi-multi-storey parking Tutikandi Bhawan, Shimla and now six additional departments of the Himachal Pradesh government will also be operationalized in the multi-storey parking Tutikandi. CM Sukhu said that Himachal Pradesh government wants to ensure proper utilization of public money.

This important decision of the Himachal Pradesh Government will ensure the use of the multi-storey parking Tutikandi Bhawan, Shimla constructed with public money and will also reduce the expenditure of more than Rs. 10 lakh per month on rental accommodation for all the six government offices. In compliance with the instructions of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Himachal Pradesh General Administration Department has designed the interior decoration of the building of multi-storey parking Tutikandi Bhawan, Shimla keeping in mind the specific requirements of all the six major concerned departments.

Himachal Pradesh Public Works Department is going to prepare the building for use as all the offices by making changes as per the requirement of all the offices. Himachal Pradesh General Administration Department has also issued a notification to all the six major departments to apply for providing electricity and water connections soon to start functioning in the new building. CM Sukhu said that this important decision also shows the commitment of the Himachal Pradesh government to reduce wasteful expenditure by making good use of the underutilized multi-storey parking Tutikandi Bhawan, Shimla constructed with the public funds of Himachal Pradesh.
