CM Sukhu: Himachal government increases diet money and travel provisions of players

Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, June 10 :Hon’ble CM of Himachal Pradesh Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said in the capital Shimla on Last Sunday that The Himachal Pradesh government is working day and night to make Himachal Pradesh, which is known as Devbhoomi and Veerbhoomi, a Khelbhoomi.CM Sukhu said that by discovering the sports talents hidden in every corner of Himachal Pradesh, the talent of those players will be polished and taken to the international level.
The CM said that the Himachal Pradesh government is taking many steps to specially promote sports in the state.
CM Sukhu said that along with making a tremendous increase in the prize money of medal winning players in various types of international competitions, the Congress government has also increased the diet money and travel provisions given to all the players.
The CM said that the diet money of all the players who participate in state level sports competitions has been increased from Rs 240 to Rs 400. The diet money of the players participating in district level sports competitions has now been increased to Rs 300 and the diet money of the players participating in block level competitions has now been increased to Rs 240.
The CM also said that the amount of diet money has been increased to Rs 500 for the players participating in sports competitions being organized outside the state.
He said that the players living in all the sports hostels of the state will be given a diet money of Rs 250 during primary education and during higher education, the players will be given a diet money of Rs 400.
CM Sukhu said that the Himachal Pradesh government has also significantly increased the travel provisions given to the players participating in sports competitions organized outside the state.
The CM said that due to increase in travel provisions, the state government will bear the full fare of AC-3 tier train travel for players travelling up to 200 km and economy class air ticket for players travelling more than 200 km.
The CM said that new steps are being taken by the Himachal Pradesh government for training of players and providing them better Ssports facilities.
He also said that the steps being taken by the Himachal Pradesh government for the players of the state will help in enhancing the hidden sports talent in Himachal Pradesh.
