Sukhu government has taken an important decision to provide 180 days maternity leave to all 17,889 women cooks and helpers working in Himachal Education Department. CM Sukhu said that earlier there was no provision for providing maternity leave to women cooks and women helpers in the Himachal Education Department. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that in order to fulfill the long standing fundamental demand of the present government keeping in mind the child and maternal welfare in the state, Himachal Education Department has issued a notification to provide 180 days of maternity leave.

CM Sukhu has said that overall development of the society can be possible only when inclusive development of weak and backward classes as well as women and children is done. CM Sukhu also said that the present state government is working day and night since the first day of its tenure for the inclusive development of the weaker, backward, women and children sections of the society. CM Sukhu said that an important decision has been taken with the aim of working towards maternal and child health. The Chief Minister said that the present state government has been making important public welfare schemes to benefit the state employees and backward class workers since the first day of its tenure.

Welfare of Weaker and Backward Class Main Objective –

CM Sukhu said that restoring the old pension in the first meeting of the Himachal Cabinet was a historic decision of the present state government. 1 lakh 36 thousand employees of Himachal are getting benefits due to the re-implementation of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS). Securing the future of Himachal employees and making their old age respectable is the main goal of the present government. CM said that the state government is paying special attention to the upliftment of weaker and deprived sections.

Increase In honorarium of Daily Wage Employees of Himachal –

CM said that the present state government is also giving priority to connect the weak and backward classes with the mainstream of the society. Many public welfare schemes have been started by the state government within a period of one year to benefit the weaker and backward classes. Chief Minister said that along with increasing the daily wages of daily wage employees, the present state government has also been increased honorarium of Himachal Education Department’s part-time water carriers, Anganwadi workers, Anganwadi assistants, Asha workers, mid-day meal workers, multipurpose workers of Jal Shakti Department, para fitters and pump operators, Panchayat and revenue watchmen.
