CM Sukhu: All modern facilities will be provided to orphan children, widows, single women and elderly people in the Chief Minister’s Adarsh Gram Sukhashray Complex.
Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, June 12 :Hon’ble Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu chaired a review meeting of various schemes and ongoing projects being run by the Himachal Pradesh Social Justice and Empowerment Department in the capital Shimla on Tuesday.
CM Sukhu directed the officials to complete the Chief Minister’s Adarsh Gram Sukhashray Complexes being built in Luthan of Kangra district and Sundarnagar of Mandi district within the stipulated time period.
The CM has directed the officials to start the construction work of the Chief Minister’s Adarsh Gram Sukhashray Complex being built for 400 dependents at a cost of Rs 132 crore before July 20, 2024 and said that the Chief Minister’s Adarsh Gram Sukhashray Complex should be completed within one and a half years within the stipulated time period.
CM Sukhu said that the responsibility of mapping and construction of the Mukhyamantri Adarsh Gram Sukhashray Complex to be built in Sundernagar of Mandi district has been handed over to the Himachal Pradesh Public Works Department (HPPWD).
CM Sukhu said that all modern facilities will be made available to orphan children, widows, single women and elderly people in the Chief Minister’s Adarsh Gram Sukhashray Complexes.
CM Sukhu directed the officials to build both the Chief Minister’s Adarsh Gram Sukhashray Complexes with state-of-the-art technology, so that world-class facilities can be made available to all the residents in the Chief Minister’s Adarsh Gram Sukhashray Complexes.
While reviewing the Chief Minister Sukh-Ashray Scheme, CM Sukhu said that if the hostel facility is not available to the orphan children pursuing higher education, the Himachal Pradesh government will provide Rs 3000 per month as hostel rent to the orphan children.
CM Sukhu also directed the Himachal Pradesh Social Justice and Empowerment Department to provide career counseling to all the orphan children and also prepare standard operating procedures.
The CM said that the Himachal Pradesh Social Justice and Empowerment Department will provide coaching facilities for vocational courses to all the orphan children of the state.
CM Sukhu said that under the Mukhyamantri Sukh Shiksha Yojana, the Himachal Pradesh government will provide Rs 1000 per month to each child of eligible widows and single women till they attain the age of 27 years.The CM said that free higher education facility is also being provided to all eligible children between the ages of 18 and 27.
Under this scheme, all eligible women will be provided free health facilities under the Himcare scheme, the premium amount of which will be paid by the Himachal Pradesh government.
While giving instructions to the officials of Himachal Pradesh Social Justice and Empowerment Department to strengthen the Indira Gandhi Mother Child Sankalp Scheme, CM Sukhu said that nutritional assistance should be provided to every pregnant and lactating women and children up to the age of three years.
The CM said that to meet the protein needs of newborn children, instructions were given to the officials to work on the plan to provide dry fruits instead of khichdi in all the Anganwadi centers of the state.
CM Sukhu also instructed the officials to work on a plan to integrate pre-nursery schools and Anganwadi centers to provide better facilities to the children and for better future.
CM Sukhu said that the financial assistance given by the Himachal Pradesh government for the construction of houses for widows and single women has been increased from Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 3 lakh.The CM said that the income limit for availing the benefits of this scheme has been fixed at Rs 3 lakh per annum.
The CM said that an ideal state-level drug de-addiction center will be set up at Kotla Barog in Sirmaur district, for which the tender process will be completed by July 20, 2024.
Also, the CM said that a Center of Excellence is going to be established in Tikri under Kandaghat area of Solan district to provide education to 300 persons with disabilities.
The CM directed the officials to adopt modern technology as soon as possible for digitization of Himachal Pradesh Social Justice and Empowerment Department and to provide appropriate facilities to the beneficiaries.
Social Justice and Empowerment Minister of Himachal Pradesh Government Dr. (Colonel) Dhani Ram Shandil also shared valuable suggestions with the officials in the review meeting.
In the review meeting of Himachal Pradesh Social Justice and Empowerment Department, CM’s Secretary Rakesh Kanwar, Secretary Ashish Singhmar, Director Women and Child Development Rupali Thakur, Director Empowerment of Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes and Specially Abled Kiran Bhadana and Chief Engineer of Public Works Department NK Singh and all other senior officials have registered their presence.
