The entire accident took place on the Dividing Road of Sector-8, Chandigarh, where four girls of Khalsa College were going for the exam in an auto when A speeding SUV driver, while trying to overtake the auto, hit it with such force that one of the four girls traveling in the auto, Anjali, aged twenty-one, from Chamba, Himachal, died on the spot.
