Chamba News : Efforts are on to extend the benefits of the government’s public welfare schemes to the eligible people in Pangi, a tribal area of Chamba district. After reviewing various development works in Pangi Valley, Deputy Commissioner Chamba Apoorva Devgan said that three houses have been constructed under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Pangi. A target was set to construct 167 houses, out of which 97 percent target has been achieved by constructing 357 houses and the remaining house construction work will be completed within ten days.

He said that many development works are being done in the area to provide basic facilities like road, electricity, water and health to the people. He said that work under MNREGA is also in progress in Pangi and four lakh working days have been earned this year. The target has been set.

He said – The houses which were sanctioned under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, have been asked to finish them on priority in the season, but there is a need to finish these houses in the next ten days. Also, if we talk about the works of MNREGA, they should be speeded up. There is a need to give at this time because this year the construction season has started late in Pangi Valley.

The snowfall was very late and the snow has been removed from there recently. So a little speed is being given to it now by the team. As many houses that were targeted there, I think there are only five or six houses that still live there. And they are also being monitored by VDO sir.

So only these remain and which we are continuingly taking up with the beneficiary. Certainly from the last months and since they have been sanctioned, our hope is that the beneficiary should build his house soon, so that full benefits can be given to him and I hope it will happen soon everyone will get its benefit.
