The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has started probing the Odisha train accident. A railway official said that a 10-member CBI team visited the Balasore train accident site on Monday and started investigating the accident. Rinkesh Ray, DRM of Khurda Road Division under East Coast Railway, said that according to the information he has received, a CBI inquiry has started into the train accident in Balasore. But detailed information is not yet available.

The Railway Board had on Sunday recommended a CBI inquiry into the accident. Earlier, Railway Safety Commissioner Shailesh Kumar Pathak visited the spot. During this, he also visited the control room, signal room and signal point of Bahnaga Bazar railway station. Let us tell you, on June 3, the Government Railway Police (GRP) in Balasore has registered a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and Railway Act regarding the train accident.
