Car falls into ditch in Nankhari, two dead, three injured including driver

Shimla, August 17: A car lost control and fell into a ditch in Nankhari area adjacent to Rampur in Himachal Pradesh. Two people died in the accident, while three people including the driver are injured. The accident took place last night at a place called Gadasu. The injured have been admitted to Rampur Hospital for treatment. All the car passengers were local residents of Nankhari.

The deceased have been identified as Bhajan Lal (32), resident of Noti village of Nankhari and Dev Raj (41), resident of Danawali. The injured include car driver Pradeep (33), Kapil Dev (35) and Lokesh Kumar (27). All three are residents of Noti village.

According to the police, the Alto car (HP06B-5061) was going from Sholi to Khanog when the driver lost control in Gadasu and the car rolled off the road and fell into the ditch. As soon as the information about the accident was received, the team of Nankhari police station reached the spot and started relief and rescue work.

Rampur DSP Naresh Sharma confirmed the accident and said that a case has been registered and the causes of the accident are being investigated. Postmortem of the bodies is being done.
